Movie week

For a change, I'm going to write in english, because I need practice before starting to write the exams. I can't remember if I heve ever written anything in English for the school before this. Now I have to write two pretty long essays, one about computer games (I already have a topic in mind) and the other about digital aesthetics, but there I don't know yet what the essay should be about, maybe I could try to combine these two somehow..

Yes, it has been a really long time since my last entry here as well. Didn't feel like writing. I've been suffering some sort of home sickness, or Finland sickness so to say. Two weeks ago, I returned from my week long trip to Finland, and the following week I've been wanting to move back there. Well I'm ok again and life here seems fun again, even if the people still speak this unintelligible language eating half of the words before saying them aloud. :)

So last week I spend lot of time in the movies. I think I saw 3 films. So every other day I was in the cinema. Ok, two of the films were actually films in the film club, but anyways. And the third one was the documentary film called The 3 Rooms of Melancholy by Pirjo Honkasalo. It was really weird to sit in a cinema and trying to read the Danish subtitles whenever they were speaking Russian in that film, but the story in between was told in Finnish.. but for some reason I didn't realise that and kept on reading the subtitles.. That was odd. The 3 Rooms of Melancholy was interesting and different. I can see why it has won some prices with it.

Last weeks program included also the Semesterstartfest with Tiger Tunes and Sterling and a dinenr with some friends. The party was fun and the bands were good. I also noticed that the keyboard player from the Tiger Tunes is actually also studying in the Computer Game course here. So maybe I should get her autograph or something... :)

This week I have catched the first autumn cold and I'm pretty ill at the moment. But I'm trying to fight against it by drinking lot of tea and eating fruits. And of course sleeping! That's really important. ;)

Today there was a guest lecturer at the university, artist Eduardo Kac. His art includes or eg. telepresence and transgenic art. His was explaining shortly about his latest works wich were really interesting.
